What TV size for my living room? With 4K (UHD), you can sit much closer to the screen without seeing pixels. ### Distance Rules - **Full HD (1080p)**: Distance = 2.5 to 3 x Screen Diagonal. - **4K / UHD**: Distance = 1 to 1.5 x Screen Diagonal. Much better immersion. ### Common Sizes - **55 inch**: Ideal at 5-7 ft (4K). - **65 inch**: Ideal at 6-8 ft (4K). ### Field of View For a "Cinema" experience (THX), the screen should occupy 40° of your field of view.

Examples

I sit 9 feet away. In 4K, I can go for a huge 75 or 85 inch TV.
If I buy a 55 inch for 9 feet away, it will look small.

FAQ

Too big hurts eyes?

No, eye strain comes from brightness contrast. Use bias lighting behind the TV.

Mounting height?

Center of the screen should be at eye level when seated. Don't mount it too high (above fireplace)!
